Some highlights from behind the scenes...
March 7, 2017: Ricci Studio moves to Waynesville, North carolina
After living in Los Angeles for 12 years, I decided to move across the Country to beautiful Western North Carolina! I am just overwhelmed by the bucolic landscapes, mountains, waterfalls, and farms... So many cows! I am also thrilled to be working with a premiere wallpaper showroom, located in Charlotte (more info coming soon!). Leaving LA was bittersweet, for sure... but this change is already making a huge impact!
JANUARY 1, 2017: PET PORTRAITURE - NOW SCHEDULING COMMISSIONS
Choosing to commission a portrait is a heartfelt expression of love for your pet that will grace your home forever. When I started painting pet portraits, I discovered a beautiful cross-over of joy for my clients; self-expression through decorating, and the abundant love for their animals. The paintings are based on your photographs, so a high-resolution image is required. Backgrounds can be replaced with lush, open landscapes, giving a classic-portrait elegance. The process is straightforward, and most paintings are completed within one month. - Contact the studio for more information.
SEPTEMBER 6, 2016: CUSTOM FURNITURE - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
For the next 6 months, I will have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented craftspeople in the business. For the past twenty years, FORMATIONS has been producing beautiful collections of historically inspired items. Their original designs and quality reproductions are highly regarded for their unique finishes and exquisite design detail, with the line consisting of over 500 items that are all hand crafted in Southern California. I am so thrilled to be a part of this unique environment!
July 20, 2016: hedgehog logo!
When I discovered that the hedgehog is the Ricci family crest animal, I could not resist making it a part of my new logo! This here is Calico.... I mean, come on.
June 13, 2016: fresco workshop, vittorio veneto, italy
My week at the ORTOLAN STUDIO FRESCO WORKSHOP in historic Vittorio Veneto, Italy, was absolutely extraordinary! I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I hope to return many times in the future. Molto amore!!
Fresco is a technique of mural painting in which pigment is applied to freshly-laid or wet lime plaster. Water acts as a type of binding agent that allows the pigment to merge with the plaster, and once the plaster sets the painting becomes an integral part of the wall. The conservation and restoration of frescoes is the process of caring for and maintaining frescos, and includes documentation, examination, research, and treatment to insure their long-term viability.
THE FABERGÉ BIG EGG HUNT
PRESS RELEASE: Liane Ricci Joins The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt
New York, NY – March 6, 2014 – Liane Ricci is pleased to partner with The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, an innovative and engaging fundraising initiative that will see over 250 large egg sculptures – each designed by globally renowned artists, designers and creatives - placed throughout New York City’s five boroughs from April 1st to 26th, 2014. The general public will be encouraged to participate by finding all of the eggs, with incredible gemstone prizes from Fabergé serving as an incentive. The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt will culminate with a spectacular auction of the collectible and one-of-a-kind egg sculptures, held by Sotheby’s and online via Paddle8. Created as an innovative and engaging platform to raise funds for Elephant Family and other non-profits, The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt caused a frenzy in London in 2012, set two Guinness World Record titles and ultimately raised over $1.5 million for charity. The 2014 hunt in New York will benefit both Elephant Family and Studio in a School.
April 18, 2014 : All Eggs Re-locate to Rockefeller Center
April 1, 2014: Grand Central Station
The egg hunt and the auction are live! The event is getting great press ( New York Observer, CBS, Fashionista, Economic Times, Wall Street Journal blog) and New Yorkers are having a blast tracking them down. Egg-hunters can use their smartphones to scan each egg they find and try to "crack" all 283 eggs for big prizes. My egg (#Egg169) is nested right in Grand Central Station.

Text from thebigegghunt.org
"This spring, New York City will play host to the world’s biggest egg hunt. Over 200 egg sculptures, each individually created by the world’s leading artists, designers and creatives, will be displayed across the city for three exhilarating weeks.
Headline sponsored by Fabergé, the event is 100% charitable, raising money for children in New York City through Studio in a School, and conservation efforts through Elephant Family, saving the endangered Asian elephant and its habitat.
Designed by the likes of Diane von Furstenberg, Ronnie Wood, Marc Quinn, Bruce Weber, Zaha Hadid, Peter Beard, Carolina Herrera, Jacques Torres and William Wegman, the eggs will be ‘hidden’ in public places across all five boroughs, with a magical fairy tale taking hunters on a journey to find them...
In partnership with Sotheby’s, the highly collectable sculptures are auctioned at the end of the event, raising substantial funds for economically disadvantaged children and critically endangered wildlife."
